“Masking Fluid, Paint and straw blowing”
What you need:
Masking Fluid (Art store)
Fine tipped paint brush
Paints
A straw
On a Wednesday at the local Art store they have a “Watercolors class” and last week I saw them all using this stuff – “Masking Fluid” of course I thought to myself how cool is that stuff so I thought we could give this ago.
How to:
Step 1: Use a paint brush and the Masking Fluid paint your design onto cardstock. Allow to dry, 2-3 minutes.
Step2: Water down some of your paint so it’s a little runny. Drop the paint onto your painted design and blow with the straw. Allow the paint to dry.
Step 3: Now rub and peel the masking fluid – revealing your design.
Step 4: Now scrap your layout.
Tip: Once you finish painting with the masking fluid wash your brush in warm soapy water immediately.
Just think of all the funky patterns or words you could write with this stuff.
Try using a few different colours together on your layout.
There is heaps of fun to be had with this stuff…. I am off again to play!!!!
"Peaceful Easy Feeling" - Charmaine Otto

Journalling
reads: "Growing up in the city, i never thought i could handle
the quiet country lifestyle....fast forward ten years and i have come to love
living here. I love the solitude. I love the peaceful surroundings.
Coming home from a trip to the city is like a weight being lifted from my shoulders.
My home - my resting place."

When Inspiration Strikes
As scrapbookers we are always on the lookout for inspriation - and we can get it in the most amazing places.
On
September 13th my youngest sister got married to the man she has loved for the
last five years. I was the matron of honor so of course Ive been thinking
ALOT about the wedding. Her wedding colours were ivory and red ... so her
wedding inspired me to create a minialbum using the Teresa
Collins die cuts. The theme of the minialbum is the trip between the
hotel room and the church for the ceremony. I was so honored that she chose
me to be in the car with her and share her last moments before the "grand entrance"!

I
wrote her a letter and also took alot of photos which show her changing emotions
in the 15 minute trip to the church. Ive included these items in the Lil
Davis Journalling Pockets. These are fabulous for hiding little keepsakes.

You Asked For It
Each month a design team member scraps what you ask for! This Month Mardi rose to the challenge

TamJ asked "Id love to see Different ways to use our old metal embellies....we all have plenty!!!! and do you know of a way to tone down really out there PPs!"
Moi
asked "I would love to see what you come up with, with metal embies, buttons
and felt!" and
So here is my layout .....Ive used some nice bright pattern papers...I find the key is to use them in small anounts.....the look great in addition to some cardstocks and lined paper.
I
also used some felt and hand cut a nice big flower....along with a metal embellie
flower and metal hinge which allows the photo flap to lift up revealing journaling
about the day underneath.
